Life Science Success Podcast: Deep Phenotyping for Precision Medicine Insights
“We leverage deep phenotyping for precision medicine insights, using mass spectrometry to develop unbiased datasets at scale. Pharmaceutical companies trust us with their samples, and we can characterize those patients samples very deeply at the molecular level to find out what is going on that’s different among individuals, such as identifying responders vs. non-responders or patients that have a safety event vs. those that don’t.
We pair these multi-omic measures together with a real-world dataset as part of our DynamiQ™ Insights Engine and database. What makes DynamiQ very unique is that we’ve deeply characterized [through nontargeted protein, metabolite, and lipid measures in samples that have matched real-world data] more than 10,000 patients across multiple time points.
The lab characterization that we’ve done of those patients looks very deeply at their protein profile and their metabolite profile – which are dynamic – so you can see the onset of disease at a molecular level; you can see the treatment of that disease at a molecular level; and then you can see the disease evolution and the response to therapy over time.
So although it’s 10,000 patients, we’ve characterized those patients in a pretty extensive data cube: 10,000 patients by 10,000 proteins by 10,000 metabolites over as many as 10 different time points. This deep phenotyping is actually fairly unique and helps to not only guide pharmaceutical trial design, but also to identify where new drug targets could come from.”
