Acts as an endogenous molecular chaperone for neuronal proteins including huntingtin (PubMed:11896048, PubMed:22366786). Suppresses aggregation and toxicity of polyglutamine-containing, aggregation-prone proteins (PubMed:20159555, PubMed:22366786).
