Sapient offers precision protein assays and panels to provide customized measure of key proteins and their isoforms, including protein variants and post-translational modifications (PTMs), using mass spectrometry – no antibody or binding agent needed.
These protein measures leverage labeled peptides for direct, absolute quantitation of proteins of interest in virtually any sample matrix, from plasma/serum to tissues, tumors, CSF, urine, saliva, eye fluids, cells, and media for both human and preclinical studies.
Sapient’s off-the-shelf protein assays already encompass more than 12,000 proteins. Any of these assays can undergo further qualification based on your specific study, sample type, and regulatory requirements, including with absolute quantification. Sapient can also develop bespoke assays for difficult-to-measure proteins outside of our existing menu, including for non-canonical proteins. In addition to endogenous proteins of interest, our workflows also provide for measure of viral proteins, bacterial proteins, and drug levels.
Download the fact sheet to see how we can deliver custom precision protein assays with rapid turnaround for nearly any sample type, and how Sapient’s mass spectrometry-based approach delivers added benefits relative to traditional antibody-based protein measures, including ligand binding assays, by:
- Eliminating time-consuming steps required to develop and optimize detection antibodies
- Negating challenges of non-specific binding and cross-reactivity
- Enabling measure of specific protein isoforms, variants, and PTMs
- Providing for measure across sample matrices and species
- Allowing for multiplexing with custom-built panels
- Enabling delivery of protein measures at scale, with high throughput mass spectrometry systems to process hundreds of samples per day
Our precision protein assays and panels support the rapid delivery of precise data and robust insights that inform and accelerate all phases of drug development – from target identification to pharmacokinetic (PK) / pharmacodynamic (PD) / target engagement (TE) studies and clinical biomarker monitoring.
