Experts On… Multi-Omics Data Integration

Having a multidisciplinary team gives us deep & diverse expertise to tap across our discovery endeavors. This series shares those insights with you.

To achieve the statistical power for robust discovery of biological insight, we often need to perform multi-omics data integration that combines different omics layers – including high dimensional metabolomics, proteomics, genomics, and transcriptomics data – across a large number of samples.

Dr. Tao Long, Co-Founder and Head of Data Science at Sapient, shares how we approach the challenge of big data handling and data analytics and describes our enabling infrastructure below.

Dr. Long provides an example of multi-omics data integration using genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to identify genetic variants that are associated with circulating small molecule biomarkers – connecting the link between genetics and metabolomics.
