Interest in companion diagnostics development continues to grow in line with an increasing body of data demonstrating the value that biomarkers can bring to accelerate clinical trials. From nearly doubling probability of successful drug approval to reducing development costs by almost a quarter, companion diagnostics have high utility in helping to guide patient selection, distinguish responders from non-responders, and to identify those individuals that may be at risk for adverse events.

To date companion diagnostics have almost exclusively been linked to oncology and
hematology applications, and these CDx have been largely gene-based. However, new bioanalytical technologies, particularly those enabling large-scale coverage of the blood and tissue proteome, are allowing us to now look beyond the genome to dynamic biomarkers like proteins that can offer deeper predictive value for oncological applications as well as a wider range of diseases.

This interactive eBook shares how next-gen proteomics methods for biomarker discovery are opening exciting new avenues for companion diagnostic development.
