Symposium Panel Session | Video Now On-Demand

Sapient’s Dr. Jonathan Usuka, Chief Business Officer, recently joined experts from industry and academia for a panel discussion at the Multi-Omics in Biomarker Discovery & Precision Medicine Online Symposium, hosted by Oxford Global. The session focused on overcoming the challenges of integrating multi-omic data for biomarker discovery, with very insightful conversations on current strategies and techniques being deployed – from AI to real-world data integration – to extract the most value out of multi-omic data analyses. There were also frank discussions of key limitations that must still be addressed, and ideas posed for how to tackle areas like data standardization which are critical to the democratization of multi-omics approaches in drug development.

Watch the video to hear Dr. Usuka and panelists from Boehringer Ingelheim, The Institute of Cancer Research, London, Arizona State University, and SciLifeLab share:

  • Multi-omic data handling approaches to address data access and storage needs of multiple stakeholders that are generating this high-dimensional data
  • The need to build multi-omic datasets alongside phenotypic and real-world data and approaches to curate and standardize these datasets for maximal insight generation
  • Technologies that are enabling greater data accuracy through improved detection sensitivity, and approaches to effectively maintain data quality and results reproducibility through translational phases
  • The role of AI and machine learning (ML) to support multi-omic data interpretation at scale, and complexities that must still be considered in deploying such technologies
